Hey, I Saw Your Commercial

All Scam Alert feature stories will change quarterly. All prior alerts will be archived for referencing as needed. Feel free to share your scam story with us on our message boards.

Attention actors, The company that has emerged as the #1 scam organization is EXPLORE TALENT. According to our resources, this company is a spin-off of another company that used to burn actors - B.A.M. (Booking Actors and Models).

Explore Talent has a few clever ways of luring in actors. Here’s one. If you Google a company, for example, LA Casting, and you mistype one key, or your keyword search is a very generic one (i.e. casting, acting, modeling) Explore Talent will come up in the search results. They now have your email and will contact you with an offer for a free photo shoot. Yes, the photo shoot if free but they try to talk you into shooting a real photo shoot for about $1,200. Then they introduce you to their casting website. Here’s the kicker, it’s only $30 a month. Seems like a small price to pay, and that’s why actors fall for it every time. The complaint from actors is that months and months go by without one audition from their casting site. Actors have even noticed the same “self-submit” casting notices on Explore Talents’ site that are offered on other sites for free. If you’ve been scammed by this company or have friends that have, share your story with us in the Career Chat link of this site. If you know of any other companies that are ripping off actors or seem suspect, please email us at scam_alert@info4actors.com. Provide us with their name(s), we will investigate and spread the word!
