The
Number One Agency To Avoid -
Zanuck, Passon & Pace
Actors Information Services has received numerous complaints
about this agency, as reported by our Scouts and actors that
have either met with and/or signed contracts with them. According
to reports, the agent Melissa Cohen not only comes off as very
mean spirited and at times verbally abusive, but may be involved
in “kick back” schemes with certain photographers and workshops
she almost demands the actors to invest in. One actress said
she refused to take photos with a certain photographer Melissa
referred whose fees where upwards
of $1000. She reported that
Melissa told her she would not be
submitted for roles until
she shot with the photographer she referred. The actress was
dropped by the agency shortly thereafter upon her refusal to
shoot with the photographer. This agent is also reported to
meet with up to 4 actors at a time in a room for representation
interviews. Which sends a signal that if these reports are
accurate, ZPP is for the most part
a “farming” type of agency that signs as many actors as they can perpetuating the kick
back scheme. We at Actors Information Services advise the actor
to stay away from this agency until it changes it’s business
practices. One of our Scouts met with Melissa Cohen not long
ago and it was requested that our Scout take up to 9 different
changes of clothing with a certain photographer. Those looks
included dressing up like a cop, a chef, a doctor, a detective,
a nurse, a cheerleader, a sexy soap shot, a MTV look, and a
golf player look. Not only are these costumes very expensive,
but only needed for actors that mainly do extra work. Until
further notice, avoid this agency.
